After just missing out on the track title at Brockville Speedway in 2012, Lee Gill and his team came back in 2013 with their eyes set on the coveted track title. Gill was already a four time champion at the BOS, taking the track title four consecutive seasons from 2000 to 2003 and after returning in 2012 after a decade away from the Brockville track, Gill was looking to add a fifth title to his resume.
It didn’t take long for Gill to prove that he was focused on the task at hand. He started the season with top five finishes in May, including his first win of the season on May 25th. Gill continued his impressive streak of top 10 finishes in June, and posted a win in a 50 lap event on Saturday June 8th. Lee was strong once again in July, until the final weekend of the month where he was caught up in a late race incident. July 27th would be Gill’s first finish outside the top 10 in nearly two years. In August, Gill posted another five consecutive top 10 finishes, including three third place efforts and secured the BOS championship on Saturday, August 31st in the 50 lap season finale.
“It was a great season for us. I always enjoy coming up here and racing, and it is great to get back here and win a championship”, says Gill. “I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the track in 2014.
Gill plans to race at Brockville Speedway once again in 2014, and his son Riley Gill will also be back in a Sportsman car for the upcoming season.

Lee Gill Captures Brockville Ontario Speedway Track Championship on Saturday Night After Hard Fought Third Place Finish
Going into Saturday night’s program at Brockville Speedway, Lee Gill had just one task on his mind. Sure a win would have been a great exclamation point on a fantastic season, but the primary goal was to secure the track championship…his fifth career Brockville Speedway title. Gill had a 20 point advantage going into the night, and a solid top five finish would secure that title.
After setting the fourth fastest speed in his time trial group, Lee started the heat race from the fourth position. He struggled early, and battled through a tense moment in turn one and two that almost ended in disaster and crossed the finish line in fifth place. The 50 lap main event was up next, with not only the track championship on the line, but also the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series title. Gill started the race from 15th place, and was inside the top ten before the first caution on lap 12. As the race approached halfway, Gill was up to sixth place, and although his nearest point competitor had just taken the lead, his sixth place finish was just high enough to earn the track title. Gill wasn’t satisfied with sixth, and he continued to work his way forward, and when the dust settled after the checkered flag, he was in third place, taking the track championship by seven points.
“It has been tough the last few weeks, but we came here to win the title this year, and we were able to accomplish that”, says Gill. The last championship we won here was over 10 years ago and the kids were just small, so to do it again now with their help really means a lot”.
The main goal for the season was to win the track title, and that was accomplished. The team also battled for the inaugural Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series title as well, and fell just short of taking the Brockville Speedway sweep for 2013.
The next race on the season for Lee Gill will come on Saturday, September 21st at Brighton Speedway as they host a 100 lap Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series event. Gill will also return to Brockville Speedway one final time with the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals on October 18th to 20th.

Lee Gill Holds a 20 Point Advantage With Just One Race Remaining in Quest for Fifth Brockville Speedway Track Championship
The long grind of the 2013 season will come to and end this coming Saturday night as Lee Gill looks to capture his fifth career Brockville Speedway track championship. Gill will carry a 20 point advantage heading into the final points night at Brockville this Saturday night.
This past week, Gill began the night with a third place finish in his qualifying heat race after starting from the rear of the field. In the 30 lap main event, Gill started from the 13th starting spot, and struggled early in the event, maintaining that same position through the opening 20 laps. Over the final 10 circuits, Gill was able to advance to ninth place.
“It certainly was not the finish we had wanted tonight, and we gave up a few points, but we are confident that we will finish strong next week”, says Gill after the race. “This one is over, so we will move on to next week and hopefully we can have a solid night and win the championship”.
Lee Gill was not the only member of the Gill family on the track this week. Lee’s son Rylee debuted in the Rookie Sportsman class the previous week, and has already won his first feature event, taking the win at Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night. He won his heat race at Brockville and finished sixth in the main event.
This coming Saturday night, Lee Gill will return to Brockville Ontario Speedway looking to claim his fifth Brockville Speedway track title. In addition to the regular weekly championship, the first ever Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series championship is also on the line with a 50 lap main event to decide everything set for Saturday night.

Lee Gill’s Third Place Finish Helps Solidify His Quest For Fifth Brockville Speedway Championship; Two Weeks Remaining in Regular Season
Entering the evening with a 22 point advantage in the point standings at Brockville Speedway, Lee Gill was looking to continue his consistency and pad his point lead with just three races remaining in the battle for the track BOS championship.
After a fourth place finish in his qualifying heat race, Gill hit the track for the 30 lap main event from the 12th starting position. By lap six, Gill had survived a couple early caution periods, and was up to sixth place. By the time they reached the half way point of the race, Gill was up to fourth place and continued to move forward. A caution on lap 19 slowed the field and Lee would restart from the second position. Over the final 11 laps, he slipped to third, but more importantly, he added some valuable points to his lead with just two weeks remaining in the championship battle.
“It was a good points night for us”, says Gill. At this point, we are looking at the big picture. The wins would be nice, but the consistent finishes are what we need for the track title”.
Lee Gill’s son Rylee also made his Sportsman debut this weekend, racing at both Can Am Motorsports Park and Brockville Speedway this weekend. He finished third in the Novice Sportsman at Can Am, and sixth at Brockville in their Rookie Sportsman division.
This coming Saturday night, Lee Gill will return to Brockville Ontario Speedway looking to continue his strong season. Gill will be looking for his 3rd win of the year, and will be trying to add to his current 28 point lead in the battle for the 2013 Brockville Ontario Speedway Modified Track Championship.

Lee Gill Increased Brockville Speedway Points Lead With Third Place Performance on Saturday Night; Three Races Remain in Regular Season
After a sixth place finish at Brockville Speedway last week, Lee Gill was looking to get back into the top five, and contend for his third win of the season this past Saturday night, and more importantly try and extend his point lead as he battles for his fifth career Brockville Speedway track title.
With a third place starting spot in the qualifier, Gill quickly worked his way to second and challenged for the lead. On the final lap of the race, Gill was side by side, finishing the race in second. In the 30 lap main event, Lee started from the sixth position and quickly moved to third before the first caution on lap six. On the ensuing restart he moved to second place briefly before settling into third place for the remainder of the race.
“The car was good, just not quite strong enough for the win”, commented Gill after the race. “It was a good points night, and that is what we need over the final three weeks of the season”.
With a third place finish, and his nearest competitor in the championship battle finishing outside the top five, Gill will carry a 30 point lead going into next weekend.

Lee Gill Maintains BOS Points Lead After 6th Place Finish on Saturday Night; Four Weeks Remaining in Regular Season at Brockville Speedway
After a frustrating night the previous week, getting caught up in a late race incident involving Lee Gill and a couple other championship contenders, Gill was looking to get back on track this week at the BOS as they enter the final month of the 2013 regular season. Gill had his consecutive top 10 streak snapped with a disappointing 18th place finish as a result of the last lap crash.
After a tough start to the night in the qualifying heat race, Gill lined up for the feature from the 21st starting spot, and begin to move up through the pack. By lap nine he was inside the top 15 and made his way inside the top 10 just prior to the halfway point of the 30 lap event. Over the final 15 laps, Gill continued to move forward, and crossed the finish line with a sixth place finish.
“The car wasn’t too bad, but after having some problems in the qualifier we had to start really deep in the field for the feature”, explains Gill after the race. “It wasn’t the finish we had wanted coming in here tonight, but under the circumstances, we will take it and move on to next week”.
Despite the frustrations from last week that left the car with heavy damage and an 18th place finish, Gill remains at the top of the standings, looking to capture his fifth career Brockville Speedway championship. His last title came in 2003, making it four consecutive BOS championships at the time.

Gill will be looking for his 3rd win of the year, and will be trying to add to his current 22 point lead in the battle for the 2013 Brockville Ontario Speedway Modified Track Championship.

Lee Gill Maintains Brockville Speedway Point Lead Despite Disappointing 7th Place Finish on Saturday Night; One Month Remaining in 2013 Season
Going into last Saturday at Brockville Speedway, Lee Gill carried a 17 point advantage in the battle for his fifth career Brockville track championship. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy, with his closest competitor winning the past three races. Gill was up to the challenge, and to add to that challenge was the uncharacteristic track conditions due to the visiting Sprint Cars.
Gill finished third in his preliminary qualifying heat race, advancing from his fifth place starting position. In the 30 lap main event, he started from deep in the field, and battled to a seventh place finish on a track that was very tough to pass on.
“It was really tough out there tonight”, says Gill after the feature. “The sprint cars here really put quite a bit of rubber down on the track, and it made it really tough to pass”.
This coming Saturday night, Lee Gill will return to Brockville Ontario Speedway looking to continue his impressive streak of top ten finishes at the track, dating back to the start of last season. Gill will be looking for his 3rd win of the year, and will be trying to add to his current 17 point lead in the battle for the 2013 Brockville Ontario Speedway Modified Track Championship.

Lee Gill Scores Third Consecutive Top Five Finish at Brockville on Saturday Night; Continues to Lead Point Standings as Summer Heats Up
Going into last Saturday night’s events at Brockville Speedway, Lee Gill held a 24 point advantage in the chase for the 2013 BOS 358 Modified Division championship. He was hoping to keep his strong season going, and put some more distance between himself and second place. Lee also leads the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series point standings by four points after two of the three scheduled races.
Like most nights, Gill started the night off with the preliminary qualifying heat races, and after starting from the fifth position, he advanced to third by the end of the eight-lap race. He started the 30 lap feature from the 13th position, and struggled early in the race. He finally made it inside the top ten on lap 13 and continued to make some progress as he climbed to eighth place as they hit lap 20. After avoiding a wreck, and passing a couple more cars, he soon advanced to the top five after just two more laps, and continued a late race charge to the front, crossing the finish line with a solid third place run.
“We really struggled early in the race, but we were able to fight back towards the end of the race and salvage a good finish”, says Gill. “It will be really important to continue these consistent finishes throughout the rest of the season to stay at the top of the point standings”.
This coming Saturday night, Lee Gill will return to Brockville Ontario Speedway looking to continue his impressive streak of top ten finishes at the track, dating back to the start of last season. Gill will be aiming for his third win of the season, as he tries to increase his 17 point advantage. Lee Gill Gets Second Place Finish on Saturday Night at Brockville Speedway; Continues to Lead the Way in Chase for 5th BOS Championship
Lee Gill returned to Brockville Speedway this past Saturday night, looking to capture his second Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series feature win of the season and third win overall. He entered the night with a 22 point advantage in his quest for his fifth Brockville Speedway track championship.
Like the previous Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series, heat race lineups were determined by a timed hot lap session to start the night. Gill was the second fastest car in his group, and maintained that second place finish throughout his qualifying heat race, securing the sixth starting spot for the 50 lap main event. The first yellow of the race came on lap five, and Gill had already climbed to the fourth position. Gill maintained a top five position through the first half of the race, and was running in fourth place when the final caution of the race occurred on lap 43. On the restart, Gill quickly moved to third place, and battled his way to second over the final lap.
“The car was pretty good early on, but started to really come to life late in the race”, says Gill after the 50 lap main event. “We were hoping to get back to victory lane, but we will take this second place finish”.
Lee Gill will return to Brockville Speedway this coming Saturday night. He will enter the evening with a 24 point advantage in the chase for the coveted Brockville Speedway title.

Lee Gill Finishes Seventh in Rare Appearance at Mohawk Raceway; Maintains Brockville Speedway Points Lead With Top Five Result
It was an unusually busy weekend for Lee Gill and his team as they made a rare appearance at Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, New York on Friday night, followed by their regular Saturday night visit to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night as he entered the night with a 20 point lead in the battle for the Modified track title.
Mohawk Raceway is a fantastic track located on the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory just east of Massena, New York. Gill last visited the track in 2011 in a Late Model and drove to a third place finish. Due to the track’s handicapping procedures, Gill would have to start from the rear of his qualifying heat race. He advanced his position to third place over the course of the 10 lap event. When the 25 lap feature started, Gill had lined up from the 12th starting spot, and quickly moved inside the top ten. As the race concluded, Gill crossed the finish line with a solid seventh place result.
“It wasn’t too bad out there tonight”, commented Gill after the race. “It has been so long since we have been here and we were a little bit off in our setup. We will take it and move on to Brockville tomorrow night”.
After rain delayed the start of the events at Brockville on Saturday night, the track had plenty of moisture in it, making it a very fast racetrack. Gill struggled early in the night and finished his qualifier in fifth place. The team regrouped and lined up for the 30 lap feature from the 12th position and patiently moved forward. With 10 laps complete he was up to seventh, and continued to battle for position on the way to his fifth top five finish in six events at Brockville Speedway this season.
Lee Gill will return to Brockville Speedway this coming Saturday night and will take a commanding 22 point advantage with him as they hit the track for the final time in the month of June.

Lee Gill Gets Sixth Place Finish at Brockville Speedway; Continues to Lead the Way in Battle for Coveted Brockville Ontario Speedway Championship
Coming off of two consecutive victories at Brockville Speedway, Lee Gill was ready to get back to the track, looking for number three on Saturday night. Going into the night, Gill had posted top five finishes in each of the four previous starts in 2013.
Lee started his qualifying heat race from the rear of the field and worked his way up to finish in third place in the eight lap event. For the 30 lap feature, Lee would have to start deep in the field due to his wins in the previous two races. He fired from the outside of row seven in the 14th starting position and patiently worked his way towards the front of the field. As the race hit the halfway point, Gill was inside the top ten, and continued to move forward. The first and only caution of the race occurred on lap 25, and Gill was running in the ninth position. On the ensuing restart had quickly moved up to seventh and gained one more spot over the final laps to score a sixth place finish.
“We were just a little bit off tonight, compared to the last couple weeks”, says Gill after the race. “We will continue to work hard, and hopefully next week we can be a little better and get up there and challenge for the win”.
This coming Saturday night, Gill will return to Brockville Speedway looking to get back to victory lane. In five events so far this season, Gill has yet to finish outside the top six, and the fantastic start to the season has him on the top of the leaderboard at Brockville Speedway by 23 points.

After narrowly missing the 2012 Brockville Speedway track title, Lee Gill has made it clear that he is on a mission to claim the 2013 crown, posting back to back feature wins at Brockville Speedway. Slowed only by rain the previous week, Gill continues to sit at the top of the point standings and appears to be in the same championship form that he was in just over a decade ago when he posted four consecutive track titles.
Just before the rain hit last weekend, Gill set the second fastest time in his qualifying group. They picked up where they left off this past Saturday night, starting his preliminary heat race from the outside of the front row. He jumped out to the early lead and never looked back taking the heat race victory and earning a front row starting spot in the night’s 50 lap main event. Although he held the top spot throughout the race, Gill had a couple tense moments around lapped traffic but in the end it was Gill’s second consecutive victory lane appearance at Brockville Speedway.
“It was a tough night out there with all the rain we had the past couple days. A couple times tonight it had rained and I thought we were done for the night again”, says Gill after the race. “We have to go give Paul (Kirkland) a lot of credit for sticking with it and getting the show in for all the fans. I have to thank the crew for all of their hard work on the car”.
This coming Saturday night, Gill will return to Brockville Speedway looking to make it three in a row. In four events so far this season, Gill has yet to finish outside the top five, and the fantastic start to the season has him on the top of the leaderboard at Brockville Speedway by 20 points.

Lee Gill Claims First Brockville Ontario Speedway Checkered Flag of 2013 Season; Four Time BOS Champion Looking Strong in Quest for Fifth Title
After opening the 2013 racing season with a pair of top five finishes at Brockville Speedway, Lee Gill returned this week hoping to find victory lane for the first time in 2013. The team was optimistic going into the night, after scoring a fourth place finish on opening night and backing that up with an impressive third place run last Saturday night.
Gill started his preliminary qualifying heat race from the fourth position and quickly diced his way to the front of the pack, he took the lead on lap five of the eight lap race, and never looked back. After the heat race, Gill and his team tweaked the set up of the car to keep up with the changing track conditions that occur throughout the evening. He started the 30 lap main event from the 10th position. By lap six, Gill had climbed up to sixth place, and quickly moved forward from there, moving to second just a few laps later. After a fantastic battle for the top spot, Gill took the lead for good just as they approached the halfway point of the race, and went on to collect his first win of the season.
“We really had a great car tonight”, says Gill. “We have had a really good start to the season, so hopefully we can keep it going. It will be a long season, and a tough grind between now and September but so far everything has gone pretty well for us”.
The win puts Gill at the top of the point standings after three events at Brockville, and he also has the distinction of being the only BOS regular to finish in the top 10 in every start dating back to the beginning of last season.
This coming Saturday night, Gill will return to Brockville Speedway for the first round in the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series. It will be the first of three 50 lap events in the series with the second coming on July 6th and the series finale at the BOS on August 31st.

Lee Gill Earns Second Consecutive Top Five Finish to Start the 2013 Racing Season at Brockville Speedway
After
a fourth place finish on opening night at Brockville, Lee Gill returned for the
second week of the season looking to build on that and work towards his first
win of the young season.
With
some problems in his qualifying heat race, Gill had to start deep in the field
in the 30 lap main event. At the drop
of the green flag, he worked his way forward very quickly. After missing a multi car incident on lap
four, Gill was inside the top five after just six laps. When the race ended, Gill finished with his
second straight top five, coming home with a solid third place result.
“The
car was pretty good again tonight”, says Gill after the race. “We have been working hard getting this car
dialed in, and hopefully we can get back to victory lane here real soon”.
Lee
Gill will return to the BOS this coming Saturday night. He plans to race at Brockville weekly in
2013 and will be joined later in the year by his son Rylee Gill, who will run
in the new Rookie Sportsman division.
Lee Gill also plans to run select event at other tracks, to be
determined at a later date.

Lee Gill Grabs Top Five Finish on Opening Night at Brockville Speedway
After a long off-season, Lee Gill and his team were ready to get back on the track, and start the 2013 racing season. 2012 was a great year for Gill, coming ever so close to winning the Modified track championship at Brockville Speedway, and with a new season and a fresh start, the team hopes to contend for the title once again.
Gill returned to Brockville Speedway for opening night on Saturday, and started off with a fifth place finish in his qualifying heat race after starting from the rear of the field. Lee lined up on the outside of the ninth row in the 18th position to start the 30 lap main event and quickly moved forward. After avoiding multiple on track incidents in the first half of the race, he made his way inside the top ten by lap 12 and was up to fifth just two laps later. After climbing to as high as third place, Gill settled into fourth place in the closing laps, posting a strong finish to start the new season.
“We avoided some of the early wrecks that took place and were able to get a strong top five finish to start the season”, says Gill after the race. “We will work on the car over the next week and see if we can get it a little better when we return next Saturday”.
